Music Courses To Suit All Needs
The grade 9 Instrumental Music course is an introduction to music with the use of brass, woodwind and percussion instruments. Students require absolutely no prior knowledge or training in the study of music to enjoy and understand the offerings of this course. On the other hand, if students come to the program with an understanding for music, they will be challenged in a healthy way.
Grade 9 Instrumental Music
In the Grade 10, 11 and 12 Instrumental music courses students will continue to develop their skills on a given instrument. New styles of music will be explored, and students will be challenged to work in large and small ensemble, as well as an individual. As well, components of theory will increase in complexity.

Music ensembles are the life blood of a strong music program. To that end, there is an ensemble for each and every student, and all are encouraged to participate. See the "Ensemble" page on this site for more details.

Arts In The Grade 9 Year
Arts courses are delivered in 9 week half courses during one of the two semesters. This means that students can choose to study 2 of the 3 Arts disciplines. This is a good way for students to participate in various disciplines, and to become comfortable with their strengths and desires.
